The ASA's are fairly quick boxes. Many of the problems folk 
will run into with these boxes tend to be feature-related 
(IP routing sucks, some capabilities may not be available, 
IPv6 is coming but don't expect parity with IPv4, e.t.c.).

But in terms of raw power, depending on your use-case, 
they're not that bad. Of course, there are different models 
for different amounts of bandwidth that the platform can 
forward.
