Oh absolutely. I've seen enough badly-maintained Unix servers over the
years, and even my own printserver at home got rootkitted (it was running an
old version of Red Hat with a vulnerable lprng; I hadn't stayed on the Linux
mailing lists as I don't use it any more, but I also hadn't bothered
reinstalling it with FreeBSD. Needless to say, I have now :-)

Generally though, it's not normally the content of the mail which is a
problem - it's the daemon which receives it.
