Re: Help about uucp
Hi,
My machine is 192.168.4.187 and I work with RedHat 6.0.
My machine is connected to my Server by wirelles Ethernet; my server is
192.168.4.1. and is a microsoft proxy server 2.0. When I work on a windows
client, I have microsoft proxy client 2.0 with WinSock Proxy Client 2.0
enabled.
But when I worked with Linux, I didn't have a client software like WinSock.
What is my goal ?
I want to establish a uucp connexion with my smart host (194.7.233.44)
through a microsoft proxy server (192.168.4.1). This microsoft proxy server
is located at my ISP who gives Internet access to people with a Microsoft
Windows NT (194.7.233.34).
This morning, I download and install packages : socks5, runsocks5 and
socks5_clients, that create some files : /etc/rc.d/init.d/socks5;
/etc/libsocks5.conf and /usr/sbin/socks5.
How to setup this packages ?
/etc/libsocks5.conf contains this line :
socks4 - - - - -
I want to know : microsoft proxy server 2.0 is similar to socks4 or socks5 ?
When I do : telnet 194.7.233.44 540, it doen't work.
But when I do : telnet 192.168.4.1 1080
I have :
Trying 192.168.4.1
Connected to 192.168.4.1
escape caracter is '^]'
And after a time,
Connection closed by foreign host.
I precise that when I work with Windows client, I can telnet well.
Help me.
