Re: Help about uucp

Hi Stephane,
Thank you for response. I think I have a problem with my connection to the
microsoft proxy server (that run at my ISP whis is a Windows NT).
When I am in Windows on my machine (first partition), the microsoft proxy
client run. My eth1 is 192.168.4.187 et my proxy server 192.168.4.1. I share
the Internet connection by eth0 : 192.168.0.1 with analogx. But the IP of my
ISP (Windows Nt) is 194.7.233.34. Of course , I can't ping it because of the
proxy. But, Microsoft Proxy client that runs on my machine enables the
Winsock proxy client. So, I can use telnet on any port. Like : telnet
194.7.233.34 25, on my smtp server, or telnet 194.7.233.44 540 on my smart
host for uucp connection.
Ok.
Now, when I am in Linux (second partition), I can ping my proxy server :
ping 192.168.4.1, but of course, I can't ping 194.7.233.34 (my ISP) and I
can't ping 194.7.233.44 too (my smart host). And I can't use telnet : telnet
194.7.233.34 25 (my ISP) and telnet 194.7.233.44 540 (my smart host don't
work. I think if telnet 194.7.233.44 540 works well, uucp connection may be
established with my smart host. I think the problem is ipchains; look at :
mines are :
ipchains -P forward DENY
ipchains -A forward -s 192.168.0.1/24 -j MASQ
echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip-forward

How to configure that well telnet work and uucp so ?
Thanks
