[afnog] Clamav failure

Hi, im having some trouble with clamav. i get the following error in the
mainlog

2005-08-29 16:47:54 1E9jzO-0000bi-4O malware acl condition: clamd: unable
to connect to UNIX socket /tmp/clamd (Connection refused)
2005-08-29 16:47:54 1E9jzO-0000bi-4O H=(phoenix1) [192.168.0.25]
F=<user at domain_name.com> temporarily rejected after DATA

i have tried to edit the clamav.conf file and made the following changes

# Maximum length the queue of pending connections may grow to.
# Default is 15.
MaxConnectionQueueLength 30
.
.
.
# Maximal number of a threads running at the same time.
# Default is 5, and it should be sufficient for a typical workstation.
# You may need to increase threads number for a server machine.
MaxThreads 50

but nothing of it has helped. is there anyone out there with a fix for
this. thanks
