some years back, nanog was in denver.  the 'social event' was a
tour of the cheyenne mountain strategic 'defense' headquarters,
the center of us air defense or something, just before it was
closed to public tours.

in the central control room, the one you occasionally see in
bad movies with ten military in it (not the one with a theater
of rows of monitors), was an array of computers.  on one of
them was the blue screen of death.

but you can't move your account away from these folk.  in fact,
they come to you.
