What are the Key Issues Affecting the African Internet?
This mailing list is convened by the African Internet Service Providers
Association (AfrISPA) in conjunction with DFID's Catalysing Access to ICT's
in Africa (CATIA) programme.
The objective of the list is to facilitate a broad and open discussion to
identify key issues relevant to the Internet sector in Africa. These include
key regulatory hurdles in countries, regions or the entire continent; real
or perceived inequities between Africa's Internet and the rest of the world;
key policy reforms, and key collective positions for which AfrISPA as the
umbrella body representing Africa's ISPs needs to lobby at local and
International fora.
The mailing list discussion will run for 1 week, will have a daily synopsis
of highlights and a final summary report.
Please forward/circulate this welcome and invitation email to any others
whom you feel have something to say, we seek input from Internet Service
Providers, Communications Regulators, Government agencies, Policy agencies,
Consumer groups, public and private enterprises, academia, groups and
individuals.
