RE: subnetting help

Hi Ajayi,

It looks like the problem comes from your subnetting . First of all you have to know that with your /25 you can have two /28 one / 27 and one /26 . Let’s subnet this network like this:

The two /28 can be:

                                               64.110.88.0     255.255.255.240

                                               64.110.88.16   255.255.255.240

The /27 can be :           64.110.88.32  255.255.255.224

And the /26 which is directly connected to your Ethernet :        64.110.88.64   255.255.255.192

So your routes should be:

                        Ip route            64.110.88.0     255.255.255.240   64.110.88.68

                                               64.110.88.32   255.255.255.224   64.110.88.68

                                               64.110.88.16   255.255.255.240   64.110.88.68

Try these settings and tell us if it is ok. Please advise if your router is a linux box or a cisco router. This can help.

Regards,

Aboubacar.

Hello guys,

pls I was given 64.110.88.0/25 from my uplink provider which I now subnet into three

/26, /27 and /28. I now need to create a route for those subnet, which I did this way 64.110.88.0 255.255.255.240 64.110.88.68, 64.110.88.0 255.255.255.224 64.110.88.68 and the /26 is directly cooneted to ethernet 0/0 becos my default is 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 serial0/0.

64.110.88.68 is my linux box gateway router. now do I need to create another route for my /25 or what? and my client complain of ip conflict, whta could be the cause of this problem?

pls I need your expert help.
