Well ... during the time I was away ....
- Demcratic Republic of Congo IX came up with three peers in December
- They have also just established their ISP Association - ISPA-DRC
- Tanzania's ISP Association was registered sometime around
September/October and they are well along the way to setting up their IX -
should be happenning anytime over the next couple of months
- South Africa is closing down the Cape Twon Internet Exchange (CINX) due
to withdrawal of a large number of members
- Kenya's Internet exchange (as you know) is continuing to grow with
another peer likely to join in the next few weeks, bringing the number of networks exchange
traffic to 12
- AfrISPA should receive funding for the 3yr programme of African Exchange
point and ISP Association related work sometime in MAy - at which point
we should see a surge in the number of IXs being deployed continentally
(for more on this subscribe to AfrISPA's mailing list at
http://www.afrispa.org)

Brian
