Hard Disk Problem
Hi All,
I have a FreeBSD 4.5 running on Compaq Deskpro machine. I have install
DigiChat software which is a chat software on it. The /var/log/messages
files read as follow:
chat.gh.com kernel log messages:
> 7a85f csi:8,81,20,7e asc:11,0
> (da0:ahc0:0:0:0): Unrecovered read error sks:80,2d
> (da0:ahc0:0:0:0): READ(10). CDB: 28 0 0 b7 a8 5f 0 0 20 0
> (da0:ahc0:0:0:0): MEDIUM ERROR info:b7a85f csi:8,81,20,7e asc:11,0
> (da0:ahc0:0:0:0): Unrecovered read error sks:80,2d
> (da0:ahc0:0:0:0): READ(10). CDB: 28 0 0 b7 a4 3f 0 0 20 0
> (da0:ahc0:0:0:0): MEDIUM ERROR info:b7a44e csi:8,12,20,7d asc:11,0
I did a search on the net for these errors and find out that it is a bug in
seagate scsi hard disk expecially when FreeBSD is running on it, and no
solution has been found.
May I know if someone knows about this and if there is a way out if I still
have to use the seagate scsi HD and FreeBSD?
Thank you all for helping last time on the Instant message software (Brand,
Noah, Randy, etc...)
Once again thank You.
Bruno.
