Re: Transparent proxy

Had this happening with my Postfix server when the loads were too high for
it to handle. Try some settings similar to these:

# $FreeBSD: src/etc/sysctl.conf,v 1.1.2.3 2002/04/15 00:44:13 dougb Exp $
#
# This file is read when going to multi-user and its contents piped thru
#  ``sysctl'' to adjust kernel values.  ``man 5 sysctl.conf'' for details.
#

vfs.vmiodirenable=1
kern.ipc.somaxconn=4096
kern.maxfiles=65536
kern.maxfilesperproc=16384
kern.maxprocperuid=2670

Also read the squid material from the previous afnogs. I remember there
was a section on optimising the FreeBSD kernel for squid.
