RE: Can't Ping the gateway

it could be Noah's no. 2 - conflict between the dialup adapter and the nic
adapter cus i saw it happen recently on a friends network.

OR Maybe you don't have the 'Client for Microsoft Networks' installed or not
configured for the nic interface. Click on the tcp/ip for your lan adapter
and change the logon method from probably windows logon to client for
microsoft network - think it should work now

You could have any of the following:
1. You could have configured the ip address and gateway on the tcp/ip
settings for the dialup adapter instead of the tcp/ip for the nic
2. A conflict between the nic and dialup adapter. Try to remove the dialup
adapter if you do not use it. I have seen this happen before.
3. You could try to remove tcp/ip and then reinstall it from the network
properties box and reconfigure your settings.

Of all of those I would place my best bet in 1 and 2.

Noah.
