[afnog] African women and the Internet

Domestication of AfNOG in Nigeria and Ghana (that I know of) has had
significant impact in these places and this is undoubtedly the path to
broader capacity building. These folks had a model they could associate
with and evolve from.

At a recent software freedom day celebration, young women keen on gender
sensitive activity inquired about mentors and models. LinuxChix Africa came
to mind but the only links we could find to more information on the web
were outdated. africalinuxchix.org is parked and parent
linuxchix.orgwonders if Linuxchix Africa is gone.

I know there was a workshop in Malawi recently and Randy refers to more
below so perhaps we did not know where to look. Any pointers to
information that can be shared is what I am after.

Many thanks
