Richard,

I would imagine that you need to just do the following:

- Create two vlans, aside from the default vlan 1, e.g. vlan200 and vlan300
- Assign all the used ports to vlan200
- Assign all the unused ports to vlan300 and shut them down administrately
- Designate one or more trunk ports to other switches.
