[afnog] help on allowing ftp access in pix 515e firewall

hello,
i tried to allow ftp access( access to any ftp servers in the Internet ) in pix 515e firewall.
i am able to allow ftp or other access for hosts from the servers subnet only. but i am not able to allow ftp or  direct access to the internet for hosts from other vlans. the interfaces of the pix are not in the same subnet as the servers. 

can any one suggest me on possible causes(in pix, core switch or proxy server) for this problem?
