[afnog] IDC DVB-S2 Hangs

Contact IDC for support, it may require a software upgrade, at least that’s what they told me when our DVD was acting up. Short term solution is to reboot

Hi folks,

One of my remote clients are having problems with their IDC DVB-S2.
The gear has been working well for the past 4 months but it just started acting up.

It keeps on hanging at least twice a day and he has to reboot it manually
so as to get the RX  transmission back, which to me is kind of strange.
I checked the vendors website to see if such a problem has ever been reported
but they have no enough information.

Looking at the performance of the unit, its CPU clocks to 40% which is healthy given
the amount of traffic that the clients pulls through it and i cant rule out that its
over-utilized, causing the unit to hang, until someone reboots it.

Please if anybody has worked with the IDC DVB-S2 before and has face a similar
problem, i will appreciate your input on how i can debug this.
