[afnog] Bind automatic slave update

Hi Noah,

Thank for your help.

I have the following statement in my DNS master named.conf

notify explicit;

    also-notify { slave1_ip; slave2_ip; };

and my refresh interval is 3 hours.

I have got an allow-update or allow-notify statement in my slave configuration. Do you think that I can be the reason?

Thank.

Check the refresh interval on your zone and also set notify to yes on the zone entry in your named.conf. That will cause the master to notify the slave when the zone has changed.

Noah.

Hi,

I have a problem with my slave DNS server.

If I modify a record in my DNS master server, increment the serial and restart DNS service, my slave server did not update automatically.

I'm obliged to restart my slave DNS service to have updated records.
How must I do to update automatically my slave server when I change a record in my master server?

I use bind in the master and the slave.

Sincerely,

Makan SIMAGA.
