It is quite common in DNS zone files, to add a marker whose presence
in the DNS replies will indicate that the zone file was loaded
successfully. (This is because there is no explicit end marker in BIND
zone files so a trauncated zone file would not be detected otherwise.)

The root uses the same trick.

%             dig +short VRSN-END-OF-ZONE-MARKER-DUMMY-RECORD.ROOT. TXT 
"plenus"

Not "should", "MUST", it is an awful bug!
