[afnog] Problem installing FreeBSD 6.2 usb keyboard

welcome to the world of Dell Optiplex 210L. i had the same problem a while
back, did every sort of atkbd that can every be disabled, played around with
it but it did not work.

i read an explanation somewhere (forgot where it is, ill look for it and
post it here) that the USB controllers get into a loop and simply dont move
one from there. from my understanding (and i stand to be corrected) this is
the problem some experience with a number of Dell Optiplex shipped to this
side of the Sahara (read UG). I had a thread run here before about the same
problem and someone with the same box managed an installation!!

i was able to access it via console, (follow the instructions in the
handbook on how to get console access), and setup the system as i needed.
after that, it is accessible via ethernet, just not physically on the box.
if that is sufficient for you then id suggest this path.


Console access of the system works fine, that is where I was able to setup
on the disks and install.
