[afnog] Linux Alternatives to Micro$oft Exchange

Good morning friends,

A friend's office is shopping for compelling alternatives to Micro$oft Exchange
and Office. The environment has about 3000 users and has stringent security and
retention policies (they are a financial service provider!). 

please kindly share your thoughts and ideas on a linux alternative that is
scalable, secure and extensible.
