CNN certainly is blocking ICMP packets - i cant ping it from here (Germany)
as well - but I can load their website.

As I said before - the website contains a lot of elements and a standard
web-browser without acceleration might have problems to load the full page
over a satellite link.

Try this - it is CNN website as well, but with a lower number of elements.
