Hi John,
Did you delete the previous IOS image? This is sometimes retained and if
you add another it may not be able to run

Subject: [afnog] Error on Cisco 1700
Hi Guys,
Am working on upgrading the flash on a cisco 1700. The router previously
came with 4 mb flash. I've slotted in a 16mb flash. I am able to copy a new
IOS (8mb), from ROMMON mode, but when I reset after completion of the flash
programming I get the following error :-
System Bootstrap, Version 12.0(3)T, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1) Copyright (c)
1999 by cisco Systems, Inc.
C1700 platform with 16384 Kbytes of main memory
program load complete, entry point: 0x80008000, size: 0x83edcc
Error : memory requirements exceed available memory
Memory required : 0x016875A4
Has anyone encountered such a problem, and how did you manage to sort it
out. All help will be appreciated.
The full error output is as follows:-
File reception completed.
Copying file c1700-sv8y-mz.122-8.t4.bin to flash.
