JOB DESCRIPTION
Field Service Technician, Managed Services
Reporting to: 	Service Centre Supervisor/Manager or Senior Field Service
Engineer 
Job purpose 
To assure competitive strength and business growth through the provision of
the highest quality technical services to our customers at their premises.
Perform all installation and repairs with new connections or customer
equipment according to standards and procedures.	
To maximize customer satisfaction with the delivery of first class on site
field repairs, installations and preventative maintenance.
Key-result areas 
*	Conformance to customer service level agreements (SLA's)
*	Reduction of customer complaints and increased customer
satisfaction.
*	Default response and fix times to be within 8 hours during normal
business hours.
*	Preventative maintenance to be carried out as per customer schedule.
*	Total spares used to carry out successful repairs to be kept to a
minimum.

1  	To carry out the installation and maintenance of operating
equipment, desktop equipment and network connections
Carry out site surveys for new customer premises for preparation for
equipment installation.
*	Implementation of customer installations according to circuit
installation follow-up and site survey procedures.
*	-	Perform interventions as a result of a help desk request as
soon as possible, and within the terms of the customer contract.
*	
*	-	Reporting all interventions by means of filling site
intervention reports according to Maintenance Support Directory.
*	
*	Carry out repairs and initiate return of faulty customer equipment
according to the customer maintenance contract.	
*	Reporting and escalating all observed problems to proper operational
escalation points.    
*	
*	To ensure the correct functioning of internal office IT equipment

-	Ensure shortest possible turn around repair cycle by undertaking
local repairs of faulty items and monitoring closely the replacement of
faulty items.

*	To ensure that you have the correct spare parts and tools needed to
ensure that customer site visits are completed on time with a minimum of
disruption to the end user.

F. Knowledge, skills and experience required 
*	Education and training:
*	HNC or equivalent in electronic engineering or telecommunications in
country qualification
*	Full operating understanding of Microsoft office products.
*	At least 1.5 years experience as a Field Service engineer and 6
months experience as a Repair Center technician who has dealt directly with
external customers.
*
