Not necessarily. Anything that goes on the rescue CD could be stored on the
central backup server. At very least that would allow you to burn an
up-to-date recovery CD at the point in time that you need it.

Cute. I did wonder whether Steve Dore was a person until I looked it up :-)

Now just to integrate this with a backup scheduler, and a HSM so that the
most recent version of all files remains on on-line media...
