AfNOG 2005 Call for Tutorial Proposals

The African Network Operators' Group (AfNOG) will hold its 6th meeting in Maputo, Mozambique on the 25th April 2005. This event will follow an AfNOG-organised 5 day intensive training workshop (18th to 23rd April) and will be followed by an AfriNIC meeting (26th to 27th April - see www.afrinic.net ).

AfNOG invites tutorials to be held in conjunction with the conference on the 24th April 2004. Tutorials should be technical and non-commercial in nature and highlight issues relating to technology already deployed or soon to be deployed on networking and related services provisioning for ISP operations.
Tutorials are typically half day (4 hours) in duration.
Suggested areas of interest include:
VOIP Solutions
LAN & WAN Wireless Technologies
Last Mile connectivity solutions
Securing Network & Services
Managing SPAM and Viruses
Web Caching and Bandwidth optimization
Operation of large scale services such as Email and Web Servers
Routing Best Practices
We ask that the following be sent to afnog-presentations at afnog.org
A brief description of the tutorial, including: goals, detailed outline, background knowledge required and potential attendees.
Information about the tutorial speakers including name, address, affiliation, email, phone and fax.
A Short CV of the presenter(s), including background in the tutorial area and previous tutorials presented
Permission to reproduce your presentation, including permission to Post it on the AfNOG website.
Deadlines
Submission deadline: 25th February 2005
Notification by: 11th March 2005
